Streamlined waste handling helps orfix meet growing production demands
With roots dating back to 1855, orfix International GmbH has grown from a local printing company into a leading European provider of products and services required for cash handling and transportation. Today, the company operates its own production sites in Germany, France, and Serbia. Recent investments are focused on expanding production capacity to meet growing demand.
Lundberg Tech and orfix first connected through a phone call in early 2024, which sparked discussions about optimising orfix’s waste handling process. As part of their broader efforts to support the UN Sustainable Development Goals — with initiatives already addressing 11 out of 17 — orfix also saw potential in improving their waste handling processes.
After carefully listening to the needs of the existing orfix setup and taking future requirements into account, Lundberg Tech proposed two All-in-one Units consisting of a WasteTech 80 to handle waste from one machine and a WasteTech 200 to handle waste from 5 slitters.
“Our waste handling units were installed in February 2025. We are very satisfied with the outcome of the project and would like to thank Lundberg Tech for their great organisation and communication at all times. Setup went smoothly and our cooperation with the technician from Lundberg Tech was pleasant as he is an experienced and well-organized person,” says Mira May, Industrial Engineer at orfix International GmbH.
Now, six months later, orfix continues to be pleased with their investment in automated waste handling.
“Investing in Lundberg Tech’s systems has significantly improved our waste handling,” explains Jan Zimmermann, Production and Technical Manager. “The automated process has reduced manual, time-consuming tasks for our operators, streamlined production, and minimized internal waste transport.”
