Cleaner, smoother, more efficient: Ningbo Kunpeng Printing optimises production with Lundberg Tech waste handling solution
Ningbo Kunpeng Printing Co., Ltd. is a well-established label printing company based in Fenghua District, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, China. Founded 16 years ago, the company specialises in the design, printing, and production of a wide range of labels and adhesive products.
Serving industries such as electronics, electrical appliances, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, daily chemicals, healthcare, machinery, and shipping, Ningbo Kunpeng Printing combines advanced printing and post-press equipment with strong technical expertise. This enables them to deliver high-quality labels, logos, nameplates, and customised adhesive solutions tailored to diverse customer needs.
The collaboration between Lundberg Tech and Ningbo Kunpeng Printing began at Labelexpo Europe in Brussels in 2019, followed by a second meeting at Labelexpo Asia in Shanghai later the same year. It was here Michael Chen, Owner and Managing Director of Ningbo Kunpeng Printing, deepened his interest in investing in an automated waste handling solution.
“In 2022, I decided to purchase a Lundberg Tech system for trim collection. One important factor in choosing them was their ability to connect four slitter processing machines to a single All-in-one system using only a 2.2 kW ventilator. The system was installed that same year and has run without any issues since,” says Mr Chen.
The solution installed consists of a WasteTech 140-200U handling four slitting machines on the second floor of the factory, along with a TrimCutter 80-80U connected to a slitting machine on the third floor.
“Before we had the waste handling system, there was a lot of manual work. Boxes took up valuable floor space, and frequent internal transport was required. Our operators spent far too much time managing waste instead of focusing on production,” Mr Chen explains.
“Investing in automated waste handling has resulted in a cleaner and more organised production hall – especially around the machines – significant waste volume reduction and lower transport costs. We have also reduced manual labour and make far fewer elevator trips to empty waste bins. Overall, production now runs much more smoothly,” he continues.
The installation has proved to be highly reliable, with the first maintenance – a simple Granulator knife adjustment – only taking place in July 2025.
Based on this success, Mr Chen is already thinking ahead:
“I am considering investing in matrix adhesive collection – and if I go ahead, Lundberg Tech will definitely be contacted to help find the optimal solution.”
