Why change oil?
Adhesives can be tough, especially in label and packaging production or removing waste from lamination and converting processes. When you cut matrix or edge trim waste, small amounts of glue stick to the knives and gradually reduce efficiency before creating a blockage.
Traditionally, silicone-based oils have been used to prevent that. It works – but it comes with challenges: Unstable supply, fluctuating prices, and most importantly silicone contamination of the waste material making it more difficult to recycle.

Stable operation and lower total cost
The oil is dosed in small amounts, one drop at a time, just enough to keep the knives free from glue residues. That means efficient cutting, longer knife lifetime and no blockages. The frequency of oil drops is adjusted to the type of waste to reduce consumption.
Because the AR Oil is stable in both price and supply, you can plan your maintenance without surprises.
Available sizes make it easy to fit any operation:
• AR Oil – Non-Food Grade (NFG): 3, 5, and 20 litres bottles – plus 205-litre drums
• AR Oil – Food Grade (FG): 5 and 20 litres bottles
A cleaner waste stream
When adhesive waste is captured, cut and collected, the silicone oil used to lubricate the knives will also end up in this recycled fraction. This causes problems in further re-use, especially for printers, as silicone reduces ink adhesion on recycled materials.
By switching to AR Oil, your waste stays free from silicone, which means better recyclability and fewer issues when the material is reused. It is a small change that makes a measurable difference.
