Waste under control: McCracken chooses Lundberg Tech
“Working with Lundberg Tech has been a true partnership. Their transparent and proactive communication laid the foundation for a successful outcome”, says Michael R. Polizzi, General Manager at McCracken Label Co.
McCracken Bag & Label Co., a family-owned business based in Chicago, US, has more than a century of experience. Today, the company produces a wide range of paper bags and labels for industries such as food and beverages, logistics, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals. Committed to innovation and sustainability, McCracken offers custom solutions and runs its “Green Smart” program to minimize environmental impact.
To further improve sustainability and production efficiency, especially by reducing waste, McCracken turned to Lundberg Tech for expertise in waste handling and waste handling solutions.
“We needed a way to obtain non-stop production. Lundberg Tech delivered that and more. Their service was impeccable, responses were fast, and their pre-project clarity and dependability gave us confidence. Most importantly, the system works flawlessly. This was an excellent investment for McCracken Label,” Polizzi continues.
In 2020 a tailored solution was installed: a Lundberg Tech MatrixCompactor 400 system with three Granulators connected to two presses, later expanded with two additional Granulators for extra presses.
In 2025, after a detailed review of their needs, McCracken decided to further expand their matrix waste handling system by investing in Lundberg Tech’s latest innovation, the MatrixCompactor 600.
“Our investment in Lundberg Tech’s waste handling solutions has exceeded expectations. We are handling the waste 1/3 less. Cleaner, more compact, and easier to manage. I would recommend this system to other label companies”, Polizzi concludes.
